RECYCLED KNIT
work for Archetypes FW26
My graduation collection grew from an interest in the textures of everyday life, particularly the fishing industry and the marks it leaves behind. By working with recycled knit, wax and latex I balanced something raw and industrial with a sense of playfulness and experimentation.

I started looking and collecting details surrounding the fishing industry. Stamped fish for prints, tuna cans, vintage ads, nets and rusty surfaces. To me, the most interesting inspiration lies outside of fashion.
My collection book for Mooring presents the collection in a way that supports its story. The newspaper references the loud advertisements of fishmongers in the past, as well as fish wrapped in newspaper by the beach. It includes articles about how the fishing industry is disappearing or being replaced, and how traditional practices are being preserved while making way for better and greener alternatives.
